    To service/repair rear brake shoes (12 1/8 inches), raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. After that, unscrew the nuts that hold the brake drum in place on the wheel studs and take it away. Using the vacuum cleaner, the adjustment lever return spring is unhooked from the lever, after which the lever and the return spring are removed from the lever pivot pin. Remove the adjuster cable assembly from the adjuster lever. Next, unhook the shoe-to-shoe upper spring. Lastly, remove the shoe hold-down springs. Separate the parking brake cable from the parking brake lever, then remove the shoe-to-shoe lower spring and adjuster assembly, and finally remove the brake shoes. For installation, apply Mopar high temperature grease, multi-mileage grease or equivalent to the support plate contact pads. Put together the adjuster and low spring on the brake shoes. Then assemble them on the support plate with the primary shoe facing the front of the car and the secondary shoe at the rear. Fix the brake shoes' hold-down springs and pins, making sure the hold-down pins are seated in the support plate and the springs are connected. Ensure that the parking brake cable end is installed through the parking brake cable guide spring to the parking brake lever with the cable end secured in the lever. Place the upper spring, fit the adjuster lever return spring onto the pivot, and install the adjuster lever. Affix the adjuster cable to the adjuster lever with proper routing, and finally adjust the brake shoes to the drum using a brake gauge.
