First, open the door trim panel and move back the waterdam to get at the lock cylinder for service. Lift off the lock cylinder, loosen the retainer clip that holds it in place and separate the rod that links the latch to the lock. If this is required, take the door latch-to-lock cylinder rod away from the old cylinder and join it to the replacement lock cylinder. To fit the lock, put in the cylinder in the door hole, slide on the clip, then attach the doorknob rod to the cylinder. Apply the waterdam to the door opening and put back the trim panel.
