- Q: How to Properly Install a Fog Light Bulb on Jeep Patriot?A:Ensure you use a bulb of the right size and type when changing your fog lamp bulb, so no damage occurs to the lamp, its socket or the wiring. Prevent touching the bulb with your hands and make sure it does not touch anything oily to keep the bulb from lasting less time. First, bring the front fog lamp bulb (4) to the keyed part on the back of the front fog lamp housing (3) and then insert the bulb as far as it will go. Turn the bulb 30 degrees so that its connector receptacle is horizontal and inward. Attach the wire harness connector in the engine compartment (1) to the bulb connector receptacle. Attach the front wheel house splash shield (4) in front of the front fascia (2) cage panel using two push pin fasteners (3). Cement the push pin fastener (3) that links the inboard side of the splash shield to the front end sheet metal. Set the two screws (1) onto the front end of the splash shield, making sure they are secured to the fascia and tighten each to 2 Nm (19 in. lbs.). Install the front tire and wheel, bring down the car and link the negative cable to the battery.
