Begin the rear door striker service or repair by outlining the door latch striker's location on the C-pillar with a grease pencil. Then, use a screwdriver to remove the bolts (1) connecting the door latch striker to the C-pillar and bring the striker out.

How to Install the Rear Door Striker on Jeep Patriot?

Set the door latch striker and shim along the C-pillar, followed by carefully installing both bolts only a little tight. With help of the marks from when you removed the door latch striker, make sure it is lined up with the C-pillar. Tighten the bolts to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). Should this be required, adjust the latch striker.
