How is a Shift Cable Installed on Jeep Wrangler?

Pull the shift cable from the transmission, feeding it through the floor pan hole and join the transfer case shift cable to the shift lever body and pin. Replace any floor console components you haven't already removed and check that the floor shifter is positioned in 4L. Lift the car and pass the shift cable through the opening in the support bracket after that, fasten the new spring clip and place it in the bracket. Put on the other shift cable routing clips and flip the manual lever to the rearward position to make sure the transfer case is in 4L. Then, insert the end of the shift cable on the manual transfer case lever, raise the vehicle and test the operation of the transfer case shifter.
