The TPMS Sensor is an essential part for emphasizing the dependability and output of Jeep, especially in the line of the Wrangler. Originally used to check tire pressure, the TPMS Sensor warns drivers in instances of inadequate pressure in the tires making it safe and efficient for use on the road. For every Wrangler, the correct TPMS Sensor is shipped with the Wheels and can be mounted on the Wheels clamp-in, screw-in or snap-in depending on the Jeep Wrangler model, or if the model is the Jeep Wrangler two door or Jeep four door the TPMS Sensor, Wheels and Rims will match as well. The Jeep Wrangler features two types of TPMS: there is an indirect (iTPMS) and direct (dTPMS), where the later gives pressure data in real time for most precision. This capability is essential in preserving the high performance of the tires and hence the fuel efficiency, and safety of the car. The TPMS Sensor which is integrated in Jeep Wrangler is built to last and this kind of durability adds to the already enduring nature of the Jeep Wrangler in the market. Also, the Wrangler itself is an epitome of innovation, especially when new features are established such as the 2021 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid model; all while maintaining the importance of the TPMS Sensor, as an advocate of safe driving. This means that for any Jeep lover seeking to enjoy their ride while at the same time being safe on the road, then the TPMS Sensor is something you would need for your car.

Jeep Wrangler TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a TPMS Sensor on Jeep Wrangler?
    A:
When replacing the spare tire pressure sensor, grab its ID number and record it down before starting. Once you take out the tire pressure sensor, replace the valve cap, valve core and sensor seal to seal it properly and check that the notch/flat is placing the sensor next to the wheel. Make sure the surface of the wheel is not harmed while cleaning around the sensor or valve stem mounting hole. Hold the sensor by the potted side, while pressing the stub on the stem against the wheel and put the sensor in at the back of the valve. If the sensor housing is flush with the other side, the flat on the seal seat should fit that way as well. While holding down the sensor housing against the wheel rim, tighten the sensor nut to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.), making sure the sensor doesn't get squeezed away from the valve stem. For rotating wheel changers, put the sensor valve stem at 180° from the changer head and for rotating tool changers, make sure the sensor is above the lower bead breaker area. Make sure the tire pressure matches what is written on the Tire Inflation Pressure Label and always replace the original style valve stem cap on it. Assemble the tire and wheel on the vehicle, lower the car and drive continuously above 15 mph (24 km/h) for about 10 minutes if the vehicle stays in a stationary place for more than 20 minutes. If using a sensor is not possible, the appropriate diagnostics should be looked at. If a vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, a new spare tire and wheel assembly are installed and the spare tire sensor is replaced, the new sensor ID must be programmed into the Wireless Control Module using a diagnostic scan tool. Take down the ID number of your new pressure sensor before putting it in, then press Learn Spare Tire Sensor ID from the Wireless Control Module menu. If you have a special TPM-RKE Analyzer, place the new spare tire pressure sensor in "Park" mode; if you do not, turn the spare tire along with one road tire.
