Ram Air Duct supplies cool and clean air to the motor, reduces intake heating, filters debris and maintains a smooth delivery of torque under your right foot every time you press the brake pedal. As opposed to fluff-filled intakes, the breathing gear of this truck is combined with the broad-shouldered Ram V8 or the eTorque six, allowing the throttle to open early without burning additional fuel. Ram packages the system with high-strength steel and optional air suspension which augers eight inches in the air when at the rocks and drops four inches when in highway slip streams, thus the duct never drags or is blown out by gravel. The noise in the cabin remains minimal as the duct traverses insulated tracks, and one can still have a conversation while the touchscreen directs the haul. The low-profile hood scoop is applied to make the ducting cut through the headwinds and is applied to conserve fuel on a long haul and to ensure the calmness of the oil temperatures beneath heavy trailers. Ram also incorporates wiring and sensor lines within the same line, eliminating the clutter and simplifying future upgrades. Each Air Duct clamp is fixed with three hunches and the filter fits in dry, that is, no messy oils to taint sensors. Install a new Air Duct, park level, turn off the ignition and open the intake cover. Slacken the throttle body band and the two box screws, and draw out the old duct. Wipe the lip, check the gasket and force the new Air Duct in until the ridges fit the Ram intake throat. Scratch the clamps into place, shut the lid, switch the engine on and wait to hear a clean hiss but not rattles.
