In order to install a new Belt Tensioner you would have to disconnect the battery, study the routing chart, release the tension by using a breaker bar, loosen the belt and unbolt the worn unit. Wipe the bracket, thread in by hand the new Belt Tensioner bolts, clamp them to the required tight, re-run the belt precisely as per the diagram and loosen the bar, allowing the spring to establish tension. Rotate all pulleys manually, rotate the crank twice and check that it is aligned, reconnect the battery, boot the engine and listen that it is operating smoothly. Once this last test is completed, your Ram will be as quiet as it was when you first made your purchase.
