The Ram Harmonic Balancer is a weighted rubber-isolated crank pulley, the main function of which is to absorb torsional vibration and protect the crankshaft against high-rev stress. The low roofline cuts the air, and the RamBox secures the gear locked, dry, and accessible without needing to get into the bed. The cab is quiet, and the door openings are wide so that you only need to speak in a normal tone even when the crass chip seal is humming beneath the tires. All Harmonic Balancers on these engines are under steady loads, thus the damping is steady to ensure that the mild hybrid belt and other components last longer. Software can be updated often, and the enormous touchscreen is up to date, where Ram sound deadening mats block wind wailing. The replacement of the Harmonic Balancer is not very complicated in case you are going to do it beforehand. Disconnect the battery, strip the serpentine belt, loosen the crank bolt with the wheels lying on the ground. Jack in front of the Ram, drop the splash shield, feed in a puller into the hub, and pull it out. Apply lube to the new Harmonic Balancer nose, the installer presses it on, torque to spec, reconnect power, and start the Ram Harmonic Balancer to check smooth idle.
