Oil the washer lightly, put the groove on the shoulder, and slide the other gear on by hand, by pushing it against the washer shoulder, and inspecting it to free spin. Check the washer with straightedge to ensure that they are perfectly flat against the shoulder. Any wobble may allow gears to move and make noise in loading. Check endplay with the spec, fit the Mainshaft Washer (where necessary) with clearance incorrect and lastly fit the torque retainers, and turn the shaft to ensure everything is moving smoothly in your Ram.
