The Ram Wheel Cylinder provides smooth halting power by converting hydraulic pressure into the controlled outward force which provides Ram drivers with the confident braking force. Ram has become a no longer attached truck brand that is equally strong at work but with additional comfort every day, optional air suspension to raise two to eight inches on rough trails, an e-Torque mild hybrid that gains a slight bit of low speed muscle without wasting fuel, and the ingenious RamBox storage that secures equipment along the bed-sides. Ram cabins are spacious and silent on the inside with huge touch screens and comfortable seats to ensure long journeys are comfortable. These touches demonstrate how Ram continues to perfect durability, technology and ride qualities to those who tow, haul or just commute. A Wheel Cylinder is a small hydraulic actuator in a drum brake which causes the brake shoes to be pushed outwards and when you press the pedal the truck stops. Installation of a Wheel Cylinder requires chocking of the tire first, lifting and supporting the truck after which the wheel and drum are removed. Loose the screws holding the brakes line, loosen the unbolts and remove the old unit. Wipe the backing plate, fit the new Wheel Cylinder and screw the fasteners. Reconnect line, re-fit shoes and springs and slide the drum on. Install the wheel again, lower the truck, bleed the brakes until clear fluid runs, fill up the reservoir, pump the pedal and inspect the leaks prior to a slow test drive.
