Identify the timing chain, loosen the sprocket bolt and clamp on tensioners. Take out the camshaft, lubricate journals, and put bearing caps in that order. Tighten the sprocket bolt and fit sensor and cover again.

  To measure timing chain wear, remove the timing chain cover and rotate the engine clockwise (clockwise) until maximum tensioner extension. Measure the distance from the secondary tensioner housing to the piston ledge, it should be below 15 mm (0.5906 inches). Replacement of the worn secondary timing chains if exceeded.
