How to Maintain and Fix a Manual Transmission Shift Knob on 2000 Chrysler Cirrus?

To repair the M/T shifter's gearshift knob, pull the shifter boot down, pry the legs of the knob off the roll pin with a flat tool and remove the knob. For installing, place the knob so that the legs snap over the roll pin then pull up the boot to lock it.
