2000 Chrysler Concorde Knock Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Knock Sensor in an Engine on 2000 Chrysler Concorde?
A: The one knock sensor for the engine is placed in the cylinder block at the same level as the intake manifold. The first step is to take off the intake manifold plenum; only after that should you remove the passenger side cylinder head. After that, remove the electrical connector from the knock sensor and take out the sensor using a crows foot socket. First, fix the knock sensor and tighten it down to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs), because poor installation can slow down the knock sensor and possibly cause problems with spark control. After you have secured the sensor, reinstall the passenger side cylinder head, plug the electrical connector into the knock sensor and then set in the intake manifold plenum.
