How to Service and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2000 Chrysler LHS?

To service the trunk or liftgate shock, open the decklid and restrain it with an appropriate prop. Remove the lock caps on both ends of the gas prop and separate the gas prop. For installation, place the gas prop, install the lock caps and then check to make sure the decklid is functioning correctly.
