2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Starter Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Starter Motor on 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: To take care of your starter motor, begin by opening the hood by releasing its latch. Take off the negative battery cable and use safety stands to hoist and support the vehicle while it's off the ground. Pull out the nut holding the B+ terminal against the starter solenoid and remove the connector from the solenoid. Following that, unfasten the bolts keeping the starter connected to the transaxle bellhousing and remove the starter, with the spacer connected to the bellhousing. During installation, put the spacer on the bellhousing with its flange close to the flywheel and then set the starter on the bellhousing and attach the bolts to hold it in place. Join the starter to the solenoid connector and insert the nut to attach the B+ terminal to the solenoid. Lift the vehicle back up, attach the battery negative cable to the terminal and make sure the starter works.
