2000 Dodge Intrepid Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Lower Intake Manifold on 2000 Dodge Intrepid?
A: Release the pressure from the fuel system and take out the upper intake manifold to service and repair the lower intake manifold. Remove the power wires from the fuel injectors and take off the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail. After that, unscrew the screw linking the fuel rail support bracket to the throttle body support bracket and remove the bolts attaching the fuel rail. Then, remove the assembled fuel rail and injectors as one step. After all that, remove the bolts on the manifold and pull out the lower manifold. When installing, wipe the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head and manifold and clean and refuel the gaskets to make sure they have no cuts or tears. Put the manifold onto the hole of the cylinder head where the intake attaches and for easier installation of the upper intake manifold, begin attaching the lower manifold with a bolt 2 - 3 turns into the rearmost hole. Put the fuel rail with injectors in place and then attach the manifold with the specified bolts and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) after that, removing the alignment bolt after it's tight. Connect everything on the fuel injector harness, making sure the injectors are not interfering with the upper intake manifold. Put in the screw between the fuel rail support bracket and the throttle body support bracket, hook up the fuel hose to the fuel rail and place the upper intake manifold. Perform the ASD Fuel System Test using the DRB scan tool and keep the Auto Shutdown (ASD relay) on for 7 minutes or until you turn off the ignition switch or click the Stop All Test option.
