2000 Dodge Ram 1500 MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Locate, Remove, and Install a MAP Sensor on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: You will find the MAP sensor on the front face of the throttle body, attached with a rubber fitting that has a bent shape. Remove the air cleaner assembly before getting to the MAP sensor and once it is visible, take off the two mounting bolts. As you get the MAP sensor out, also remove the vacuum rubber fitting that is shaped like an L from both the throttle body and the sensor itself. First, attach the rubber L-shaped fitting to the MAP sensor, then position the sensor over the throttle body vacuum nipple with the fitting over it and finally install the bolts and fasten them to 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) torque. Afterward, put back the air cleaner.
