How to replace the heater core on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Removing the heater-A/C housing from under the hood is the first step to replacing the heater core. After that, remove the lid covering the heater-A/C unit. After that, take out the screw attaching the heater core tube support bracket to the housing's mounting boss and lift out the heater core. Put the new part in place at the bottom of the heater-A/C housing and poke in the screw. Fasten together the heater core tube mounting bracket and the mounting boss by turning the screw to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). After that, mount the heater-A/C housing cover and return the housing to the engine compartment.
