2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Engine Mount on 2000 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Start the front engine mount service by separating the negative battery cable and positioning the fan so that working on the radiator top tank and hose is safe, but you do not lift the engine by its intake manifold. Attach the engine support fixture and then raise the vehicle on a hoist. First, lift the engine a little to lose the thru-bolt and nut and then come off the cushion/support bracket bolts under the engine and the top cushion and heat shields. For placement, when the engine is slightly raised, put the engine support and heat shields on the block, fixing them in place with new bolts tightened to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.). After that, place the thru-bolt in the engine support and lower the engine while keeping the engine bracket aligned with the cushion brackets using the support/lifting fixture. After placing the thru-bolt nuts, tighten them to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) torque, bring the vehicle down and remove the lifting system.
