How to Maintain and Fix a Muffler on 2000 Dodge Ram 2500?

Before any service or repair on the muffler, it is important to raise and support your vehicle. Wet the clamp nuts with heat valve lubricant and give it 5 minutes to soak in. Untie the muffler hanger, remove the clamps and nuts and remove the muffler afterwards. Before final installation, put together the muffler and clamps only lightly, so everything fits correctly and then fasten the muffler hanger. Attach the nuts on the clamp to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.) of torque, lower the vehicle, run the engine and carefully check for exhaust leaks and a minimum clearance of 25.4 mm (1.0 in.) between the assembly and body/frame.
