2000 Dodge Stratus Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Level Sensor on 2000 Dodge Stratus?
A: Before working on the sensor, pull out the fuel pump module from the system. Press on the button on the end of the tubing to separate the fuel pump/level sensor connector from the bottom of the fuel pump electrical connector, noticing the harness above the flange cannot be reached or removed. Use Special Tool C-4334 or an equal replacement tool to remove the terminals from the level sensor connector. Insert a screwdriver between the fuel pump module and the level sensor housing's top and push the sensor down slightly. Move the level sensor wires into the opening on the fuel pump module and remove the sensor from its spot in the module. Insert the level sensor wires into the bottom of the module's opening and then loop them carefully into the groove of the sensor on the back. Push the wires into the grooves and slide the sensor up into its place, so the button on the bottom locks properly. Push the signal wire and the ground wire up through the connector hole and then pull both down until they become properly secured. After that, add the locking wedge to the connector, push the connector up into the bottom of the module and put the fuel pump module back in place.
