2001 Dodge Stratus Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Level Sensor on 2001 Dodge Stratus?
A: To tackle service and repair of the fuel level sensor, first need to remove the fuel pump module. Hold down the small tab beside the connector to release the fuel pump/fuel level sensor connector from the bottom of the fuel pump module electrical connector. After that, take out the locking wedge. Lift up the locking finger and, using a small screwdriver, push the fuel level sensor and ground terminals out of the connector and then push the fuel level sensor signal and ground terminals out too. Using a screwdriver, release the lock on the fuel level sensor and slide it downwards along the channel for easy removal, then slip the wires from the fuel pump module through the opening and let them come out of the channel. The fuel level sensor wires should be inserted into the slot beneath the opening in the module and then wrapped around the groove at the fuel level sensor's back. As the wires slide into the guide grooves, raise the fuel level sensor up into the channel until it snap fits. Gently insert the fuel level sensor's wires up into the connector and then pull them back down so they slide into place, making sure the signal and ground wires are in the right hole. Pull the locking wedge up onto the connector, carefully fit the connector into the bottom of the electrical connector for the fuel pump module and place the pump module back in the vehicle.
