How to Service and Repair an Alternator on 2000 Dodge Viper?

In order to repair the alternator, disconnect the negative battery cable, and the positive cable. De-bolt the air cleaner, drive belt and generator. Push the generator forward, disconnect the field connector and pull it out. To install, do the reverse, screwing up the bolts to required torque, and routing the belts properly.
