2001 Chrysler Concorde Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2001 Chrysler Concorde?
A: Before working on the fuel rail, open the fuel system pressure, ensure good ventilation and watch out for any sparks. Disconnect the black battery cable and take out the mounting bolts for the intake manifold plenum. Lift the plenum away from the engine and put a cover over the intake manifold to stop contaminants from getting in. Remove the fuel supply tube quick connect fitting that is found on the rear of the fuel rail. If you don't see their corresponding cylinder numbers on the injector connectors, put labels on them. Remove all four bolts from the fuel rail at its ends and lift the rail straight off the cylinder head. Get rid of the retaining clips attached to the fuel injectors and remove them from the fuel rail. Before installation, put a little clean engine oil on the O-rings of the fuel injectors, then snap the retaining clips onto the injectors and push them into the fuel rail until they are secure. Put the fuel rail on top of the cylinder heads and push it until it's seated. Tighten the mounting bolts to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.) of torque. Link the quick connect fitting of the fuel supply tube to the fuel rail and put the electrical connectors onto the fuel injectors. After that, replace the intake manifold plenum and link the negative battery cable again.
