Reduce the fuel system pressure and keep the workplace free of ignition and well-ventilated. Unhook the
Battery Cable that is negative and remove the intake manifold plenum by removing its bolts and lifting the plenum from the engine. Be sure to cover the intake manifold to protect it from dirt. Undo the quick connect fitting at the rear of the fuel rail which is the fuel supply tube. If there are no indications on the injector connectors showing which cylinders they serve, you should tag them with their cylinder numbers. Unmount the fuel rail's bolts on either side and pull the whole fuel rail straight off the cylinder head. Take out the retaining clips from the
Fuel Injectors and remove the injectors from the fuel rail. To install, lubricate the O-rings of the fuel injectors with clean oil, then snap the retaining clips in place on the injectors and press them into the rail so the clips are properly fitted. Slide the fuel rail to sit over the cylinder heads and fasten it down with 11 N.m (100 in.lbs.) torque. Connect the tube of the quick connect fitting to the fuel rail and then join both ends of each electrical connector to the fuel injectors. Now, attach the intake manifold plenum again and reconnect the battery's negative cable.
