Q: How to Service an Intake Manifold on 2001 Chrysler Concorde?
A: Start by removing the negative cable from the battery remote jumper terminal before you work on the upper intake manifold. Start by getting rid of the air inlet resonator and inlet tube, next take the throttle cable and speed control cable from the throttle arm and bracket and then remove the throttle cable bracket. Unplug the connector wires from the MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, IAC Motor and the MTV should you have one. Also, you need to disconnect the Vapor Purge hose, Brake Booster hose, Speed Control Servo and Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose. Take off the EGR upper tube, unscrew the upper fastener at the throttle body support bracket and move the engine name cover out of the manifold using some upward force. Unscrew all the bolts from the manifold and then remove the upper manifold. Look over the manifold for any cracks, damage to the gasket surface, warpage and issues with the EGR ports and change the manifold if you see any; clean the EGR ports with care when required. If the vacuum port is damaged, you should carry out the repair process. When putting the system in, check the sealing areas and make sure the gaskets are not cut or torn. Lift the upper manifold onto the lower manifold, attach it with the manifold fasteners and tighten them in the sequel to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Place the engine name cover back, tighten the screw in the upper position at the throttle body support bracket and fix the EGR upper tube to the manifold. Join the speed control servo, PCV, brake booster and vapor purge hoses and then pair the electrical connectors to the MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, IAC Motor and MTV, if fitted. Afterward, put the throttle bracket in place, connect the throttle cable to the throttle arm, attach the remote switch short wire and add the bracket and its cables to the speed controller.
