2001 Chrysler Town & Country Drive Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Drive Belt on 2001 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: The first thing to do when servicing a drive belt is to raise the car on a hoist and take off the cover shield. Avoid letting the drive belt tensioner snap back, because it may damage the tensioner or cause you harm. Slide the wrench onto the belt tensioner lug and turn the tensioner in the direction opposite to tightening. With the drive belt off, calibrate the tensioner so it's at its relaxed setting. When installing, keep the drive belt firmly placed on all of the pulleys except the one on the crankshaft. Turn the belt tensioner to the left until you can put the belt onto the crankshaft pulley and after that calmly release the tensioner. Check that the drive belt is correctly routed on every pulley before you put on the shield and drop the vehicle.
