2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Fuel Rail on 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Before starting to repair the fuel rail, let the pressure from the fuel system go and unhook the negative battery cable. During the service, separate the upper intake manifold and put a cover on it. Disconnect the quick connect fitting on the fuel hose from the chassis tube and at the same time, use a shop towel to cover the hoses so they are ready to catch any fuel that might drip. Next, take out the bolts fastening the fuel rail and avoid harming the injector O-rings as you take out the rail. Make sure the injector holes are free of dirt and wear for installation and change any dental O-rings that look damaged. Place a drop of clean engine oil on each injector O-ring and bring each injector tip into its port. Push the entire assembly down until everything is properly seated. Link the fuel rail to the engine mounts and secure both with bolts tightened to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque. Carefully remove the plate that covers the intake manifold and scrub that area before you put back the upper intake manifold. Connect the fuel hose quick connector fitting to the chassis tubes, making sure it snaps in properly and isn't loose. Next, connect the negative battery cable again and run the DRB III tool to pressurize the fuel system and look for leaks.
