  A: Raise the vehicle before servicing or repairing the Transmission Position Switch/Sensor for the 32RH (A-999) 3 Speed; set a drain pan under the transmission range sensor (TRS). Set the transmission manual lever to the manual LOW position, the one that's closest to the front. Disconnect the wiring connector from the TRS and then remove the two screws holding the TRS to the bracket. Lift the TRS straight up and out from the bracket, then use Adapter 8581 to remove the TRS mounting bracket from the transmission's inner case. While installing, have the lever at manual LOW, put the TRS bracket into the transmission case and use Adapter 8581 to tighten the assembly to 34 Nm (300 inch lbs). Set the TRS onto the mounting bracket such that the connector is near the front of the transmission, fasten with the two screws tightened at 3.4 Nm (30 inch lbs.) and confirm that the sensors are working as they should. Select PARK on the transmission manual shaft, replace the wiring connector for the TRS, lower the car and add transmission fluid to the correct level.
