2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service the wiper motor on 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
A: Take care of the wiper motor starting with the step to disconnect and discharge the negativeside of the battery. Pull the wiper drive link off of the ball stud on the wiper motor crank arm. Release the lock, open the hood and support it while it's open. Unplug the wire harness from both the headlamp and the dash connector on the motor's pigtail wire. Undo the three screws that attach the wiper motor to the reinforcement and pull out the wiper motor from the cowl plenum panel. When fitting the wiper motor, attach it under the cowl plenum panel, placing and tightening the three screws to it with an 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque. Reattach the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the wiper motor to the motor pigtail wire connector and then fasten the negative cable onto the battery. After closing the hood, place the wiper drive link on the ball stud and push the wiper motor crank arm right into the link.
