2002 Chrysler Sebring Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Position Sensor on 2002 Chrysler Sebring?
A: To care for the Throttle Position Sensor, start by taking out the negative battery cable and the throttle body. After that, remove the TPS mounting screws and detach the TPS. Always install the throttle body so that the end of the throttle shaft is sliding into the other round-ended side of the TPS. When indexed correctly, the TPS can be turned slightly clockwise until its screw holes match up with those in the throttle body, feeling a bit of pull at this stage. If the sensor won't rotate well, try putting the throttle adapter shaft on the other side of the tabs in the socket. Use a torque wrench to tighten every mounting screw to 5.1 N.m (45 in. lbs.). When you finish installing the TPS, make sure the throttle plate is closed; if it's open, move the sensor into the right position. After skipping adaptation, install the throttle body again and connect the negative battery cable.
