2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Before removing the ignition lock cylinder, make sure the ignition key is where it should be, disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the upper and lower covers of the steering column. Put the shifter into PARK mode, find the retaining pin next to the key cylinder, line the key with the RUN position, press on the retaining pin and carefully remove the key cylinder from the ignition lock. During installation, insert the key into the key cylinder, place the cylinder in line with the ignition lock, push until it clicks, fit the shrouds on and reattach the battery.
