2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Van MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the MAP sensor on the throttle body on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?
A: The MAP sensor can be found on the front of the throttle body and uses an L-shaped rubber fitting to attach; it must be removed after getting access to it by taking off the air cleaner and engine covers. After that, take out the electrical connector and remove the two mounting bolts. After you've taken out the MAP sensor, slide off the vacuum rubber fitting from the throttle body and separate it from the sensor. Set up by adding the rubber L-shaped fitting to the MAP sensor, place the sensor on top of the throttle body, while putting the fitting over the vacuum nipple and tighten the mounting bolts until they reach 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) torque. Then, attach the electrical connector, fit the air cleaner in place and replace the engine cover.
