How to service the steering wheel and ensure the airbag system is safely disabled on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?

In order to service the steering wheel, disconnection of the battery negative cable two minutes followed by disengagement of the air bag system. Make certain that the front wheels are straight, next remove the driver air bag and unhook the wire harness. Take the steering wheel out with a puller and then install it again and connect the air bag.
