2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Washer Reservoir on 2002 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: Before you work on the windshield washer reservoir, make sure to have the negative battery terminal disconnected and isolate it and also drain off the engine cooling system. Separate the upper radiator hose from the radiator and remove the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the washer fluid level switch from the switch connector receptacle, then detach the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the washer pump/motor from the motor connector receptacle. Take the washer hose off the barbed outlet nipple of the washing machine pump/motor so the washer fluid can drain into a clean container for use later. As you slide the washer reservoir near the fan shroud, raise it to detach the mounting tabs from their corresponding slots in the fan shroud, then pull it out of the engine area. To put in the resolver, put the reservoir back into the engine compartment, line up the tabs with the holes in the fan shroud and push straight down on the reservoir to push in the tabs. After that, attach the washer hose to the washer pump's barbed outlet nipple and then hook up the dash and headlamp wire harness and the connector for the washer fluid level switch. Fit the upper radiator hose onto the radiator, now add fresh engine coolant and then fill the washer fluid reservoir up with the fluid from the removal. Also, don't forget to reconnect the negative cable of the battery.
