2003 Dodge Ram 3500 Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the Washer Reservoir on a V-10 or Diesel Engine on 2003 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: To service the windshield washer reservoir, start by releasing and opening the hood and next, disconnect the negative cable from the car's battery. Remove the reservoir washer hose from the radiator fan shroud clips above and from the inline fitting where it joins the headlamp and dash wire harness. Allow the washer fluid to drain into a clean container to use again. Then, separate the left headlamp and dash line connector that goes to the washer fluid level switch and lastly, separate the connection for the washer unit pump/motor. Take out the two screws that keep the washer reservoir to the left side of the radiator support and remove the reservoir from the engine compartment. Replace the reservoir in the left engine compartment first and protect it by fastening two screws to 10 Nm (85 in. lbs.). Link the left headlamp and dash wire harness connectors to the washer pump/motor unit and the washer fluid level switch. Slide the reservoir washer hose down over the barbed nipple on the inline fitting and fasten it to the hooks attached to the radiator fan shroud above. Put the fluid you removed back into the washer, reconnect the negative battery cable and then secure and latch the hood.
