How to Service the Cigarette Lighter in the Center Console on 2002 Dodge Stratus?

Make sure to unhook the battery negative cable before being able to service the auxiliary cigarette lighter in the center console. Open the console lid and see where the retaining bosses are located. Reversing the pliers and pressing against the boss with the 90-degree tips will push the former out of the latter. Try gently wiggling the pliers to remove the base through the mounting ring. It's possible to make a device for this step. Before you remove the base mount ring, unplug the base and put it aside. First, fit the base mount ring and afterward attach the base wires. Connect the base firmly to the center console and at the end reattach the battery negative cable.
