What is the Role of the Neutral Safety Switch in Servicing the Transmission Range Sensor on 2002 Dodge Stratus?

The first step to servicing the transmission range sensor is to take apart the valve body from the transaxle. Lift the retaining screw of the transmission range sensor and remove the sensor from the valve body. Take the TRS out of the bottom of the manual shaft. When installing, set the TRS on the valve body and tighten the retaining screw to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). After that, place the valve body back into its position in the transaxle.
