  A: Before fixing the Air Door Actuator on cars with Automatic Zone Control,turn off the air bag by cutting the negative battery cable, wait two minutes and then try to start the door actuator. The actuator is mounted on the front of the HVAC housing, to the right of the floor panel transmission tunnel and must be accessed by taking out the instrument panel or HVAC housing. You should start by undoing the glove box door, the glove box surround found below and then continue to undo the dash and HVAC. Separate the wire harness connector from the blend door actuator, unscrew the two holding it in place and then remove the actuator. When installing, put the blend door actuator in place on the HVAC unit, attach the screws at 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.), hook up the wire harness again, then install the HVAC unit and instrument panel once more.
