2002 Jeep Liberty Antenna Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Antenna Cable on 2002 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before working on the antenna cable, cut off and isolate the battery negative cable. Open the door by removing the antenna mast, cover, mounting nut, bezel adapter and right kick panel trim. Take the antenna body and cable apart and attach a wire or string about 2 feet long to the side of the cable that was on the instrument panel. Take out the upper fender mounting bolts and loosen the bolts on the fender close to the upper door hinge, then gently pull the fender to reach the antenna body and cable. After that, draw the antenna cable up through the opening, pulling it together with the wire. To add the cable, hook the wire onto the new piece, pull the fender out, push the cable through the opening and pull the wire through the hole on the kick panel. Route the antenna body wire over to the instrument panel wire, fit the right kick panel trim, the bezel adapter and the mounting nut and tighten them to a Nm (105 in. lbs.). Secure the cover and put the antenna mast in place, check the fender mounting bolts around the door, fasten the upper fender bolts as well and connect the battery negative cable once more.
