How to Service and Repair a Harmonic Balancer on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before servicing or repairing the harmonic balancer or crankshaft pulley, first take out the accessory drive belts and the damper bolt from the crankshaft pulley. Take off the damper by using Special Tool 1026 and Insert 6827A. When installing, insert your Special Tool 6792 and an M12 1.75 x 150 mm bolt, washer, thrust bearing and nut into the damper holes and lubricate the threads of the bolt using Mopar Nickel Anti-seize Compound before pressing the damper on. Crankshaft damper bolt should be tightened to 136 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) after installation.
