How to Maintain a Thermostat for Engine Coolant on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

In order to service the engine coolant thermostat, empty the upper intake manifold and drain all the cooling system. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, loosen the bolts that are connecting the coolant outlet connection and unmount the thermostat assembly. Install the thermostat, reconnect hoses, replenish cooling system.
