2003 Chrysler Sebring Alternator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Alternator on 2003 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before touching the alternator, first remove the battery's negative cable from the shock tower's remote terminal. Lift the cover off the generator's belt and take out the field circuit from the generator. Pull aside the underside of the cover with your hand, then flip the cover open using a flat tool. Once you've done this, remove the B+ terminal wire and nut. After lifting and supporting the vehicle, remove the accessory drive splash shield and belt, while following the instructions in the Cooling section. Lift the car and take the MAP sensor out of the intake manifold. After that, take out the bolts that secure the generator and carefully lift the generator from the vehicle. After installation, put the generator back in its place and hold it with bolts. Fit the MAP sensor back in place and screw it tight. Raise the vehicle once more so you can install the accessory drive belt according to the Cooling section. Then, attach the accessory drive splash shield. Nest the vehicle down and then attach the B+ terminal wire and nut and finally the B+ terminal cover. Attach the field circuit to the generator, install the belt cover and then attach the negative battery cable.
