2003 Chrysler Town & Country Exhaust Valve Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Are the Key Differences in Servicing and Repairing Exhaust Valves and Intake Valves on 2003 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Take out the cylinder head, use C-3422-D to compress the springs and with that done, you can remove the valve retaining locks. Release the valve spring compressor a little at a time and remove the retainer, spring and seal around the valve stem. Carefully remove any burrs from the valve stem lock grooves, so you don't damage the valve guides and be sure to note the spot each valve takes up before you remove it. Cover the valve stems with clean engine oil first and after that, fit them into the cylinder head. The next step is to install the valve spring seat, next put in new valve stem seals and then install seals over the guides. After that, set in place the valve springs and valve retainers.
