2003 Chrysler Town & Country Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Role Does an Oil Filter Play in Changing Engine Oil at Specified Mileage and Time Intervals on 2003 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Change your engine oil as advised in the manual and remember to drive the car until the temperature gauge is normal. Place the car on a level spot and shut off the motor, before opening the hood and taking out the oil fill cap. Put the vehicle on safety stands and slide a drain pan beneath the area where crankcase oil will drain. Unscrew the drain plug from the crankcase and have the oil collected in the pan, checking for any damage in the drain plug threads; update the drain plug and gasket if required. Change the oil filter and while you are there, tighten the drain plug in the crankcase too. Replace the oil filter, get the vehicle lowered, put in the correct type and amount of engine oil and replace the oil fill cap. After the engine is running, check for leaks and once you have stopped it, look at the oil level. Old engine oil must be disposed of safely because it is dangerous to both health and the environment.
