2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to service and repair the front shock absorber on 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Van?
A: The first step to servicing or repairing the shock absorber is to take off the shock absorber nut, retainer and bushing from under the shock stud. After that, lift the vehicle, remove the bottom bolts and take the shock off the lower suspension arm. First, slide the lower retainer and bushing over the upper stud and place the ends of the shock absorber through the lower arm into the hold in the frame. After that, place the lower shock bolts and tighten them to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Afterward, connect the retainer and the upper grommet to the shock absorber stud, then tighten the nut by 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
