  A: Dirt from improper cleaning can cause rapid wear and misfire in diesel engines because the parts involved are made to very tight specifications. To start, you have to first remove the negative cables that attach to the batteries and isolate their other ends. After that, remove the connector from the fuel pressure sensor, unscrew the banjo bolt on the fuel limiting valve and take the valve out. Release all holding clips on the wiring harness near the intake manifold, then take off both rubber covers on the manifold. You can now remove the two nuts and cables from the positive intake heater cable studs. Never twist or kink the fuel lines as you put them aside after removing them from the top of the injector rail engine, observing where they originally sat. While making any changes to the high-pressure lines at a separate fitting, place a second wrench nearby to stop the first wrench from twisting against the fuel line and fitting. After that, disconnect each side of the injector rail's high-pressure fuel lines and record their placements. Unscrew the three injector bolts holding the rail and pull the injector rail from the top of the manifold. Carefully clean the top of your intake manifold and the bottom of your fuel rail, then properly install the rail, screwing the three bolts to the appropriate tightness. Connect the rail fittings, put the wiring harness back on the intake manifold and install new tie wraps. Fix the fuel limiting valve in place and add the banjo bolt, tightening it to 30 Nm (22 ft.lbs.) torque. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel pressure sensor, put two positive cables on the intake heater studs and secure each stud using a nut. Run the engine to confirm the leakage is gone before powering down the car.
