If Special Tool #6856 is used to remove the plastic fuel tank module locknut from the fuel tank, the fuel tank module will spring up upon removal. Gently take the module out of the fuel tank to avoid bending the support rod for the float. Take out the rubber gasket from the tank module. While you are installing, put in the rubber gasket and clean the threaded top of the locknut. Insert the fuel tank module into the opening of the tank with its gasket facing inside and then attach the locknut at the top of it by hand, but not tight enough. Both fuel line fittings should be directed to the right of the vehicle and the module's arrow should also be in the same position to stop the float from touching the fuel tank before tightening the locknut with Special Tool #6856, using the correct torque.
