2004 Chrysler 300M Car Speakers Parts and Q&A
- Q: How to Remove and Install Car Speakers on 2004 Chrysler 300M?A: Before taking out the lower front door speaker, first disconnect and pull away the battery negative cable, then open the door on the driver's side. Remove the speaker grille from the edge of the door panel with a trim stick (special tool C-4755), take out the three screws holding the speaker, pull the speaker free from the opening and detach any wiring. For placing the speaker, wire it up, fit it into the door opening, attach the three screws to hold it tight, press the speaker grille into place and reattach the negative cable to the battery. To replace the upper front door speaker, disconnect the battery negative cable, open the driver's side door, remove twice its screws on the door edge and its two retaining screws, pull it away from the door and unplug its wiring. Place the wiring, insert the speaker into the door speaker opening and attach the two retaining screws. Then, add the two screws that connect the enclosure to the speaker and connect the battery negative cable again. When removing the instrument panel speaker, cut the negative cable from the battery, lift the front panel off the dashboard, remove the two screws from the speaker area and disconnect only the wiring connector. Put the speaker into place on the instrument panel, attach the wiring connector, use two screws to secure it, put back the top cover and reattach the battery negative cable. For the rear door speaker, cut off power (where your vehicle has this feature), remove the negative battery cable, swing open the door, use the trim stick to carefully lift up the speaker grille, remove the two screws, pull the speaker out and remove the wires. To mount the speaker, wire it, set the speaker in the door opening, install both securing screws, attach the grille and then reconnect the battery minus cable. Unhook and isolate the negative battery cable, detach the rear shelf trim panel, get rid of the four screws that hold it down, remove the speaker and disconnect the wire connector. Place the wire connector, direct the speaker so its wiring feeds out of the opposite end, use the screws to hold it in place, pop the rear shelf back on and link back the battery negative cable to ensure the battery is working again.
